From global campaigns to the inaugural Beautilist shoot, photographer Chloe Grace Allan is known for capturing women at their most confident, with clarity, ease and an instinct for the in-between moments.
It’s about confidence. Energy. That unmistakable glow that comes from feeling truly seen. A long-time Dubai resident who travels the world capturing women at their best, Chloe brings warmth, calm and clarity to every frame. Here, she shares what really goes on behind the camera and why kindness matters just as much as talent.

What does confidence look like through your lens?
Strong, beautiful, powerful women.
Has photography changed the way you see yourself?
I was extremely shy when I was younger, so I don’t think it’s changed the way I see myself, but it’s definitely changed the way I feel about myself. It’s given me a sense of confidence I didn’t have before. I now travel all over the world alone, meet new people constantly, and trust in myself and my skills to bring a brand’s vision to life.
You’ve shot some of the most effortlessly ‘glowy’ women. What do they have in common?
Most of the women I shoot just have this confidence about them. An aura, which I think you often find in models. Many of the women I work with truly love what they do, and that joy and excitement always shines through in the photographs.
What’s your personal ritual before a shoot?
I get very excited about every shoot, so my ideas can overwhelm me. Over the years, I’ve learnt not to over-plan. I’ll make a small mood board if I’ve been given creative freedom, but I prefer to see how the vibe is on the day. I arrive a little earlier to meet the team and have a proper chat with the models, which helps me tune into how they work. That’s when the best images happen, when it all flows freely.
When do you feel most confident?
When I’m standing on set with my camera and I’ve just taken the most epic photograph.
How do you help someone feel safe and seen in front of the camera?
I’m obsessed with women, in the best way! Every model I’ve worked with has been beautiful inside and out. I don’t like to overly direct or make them do anything uncomfortable. The best images are always the ones where they’re relaxed and happy. I shower them with compliments, let them know how excited I am, and many of them have become close friends. That trust translates into the photo.
How do you define ‘glow’ beyond the visual?
It’s energy. A feeling. It’s when someone is at peace with themselves, doing what they love, and just radiating that inner light.
What advice would you give to someone who feels camera-shy?
I totally get it. I prefer being behind the camera myself. But I’ve realised it’s so important to be in the photo, to capture that moment. Smile, be yourself, and get in the shot. One day you’ll look back and be glad you did.
What’s one thing you wish more women knew about their beauty?
Every woman I meet is completely different, with a completely different look. And that’s what makes us beautiful. No one else looks like you. I wish we didn’t compare ourselves so much. EVERY SINGLE WOMAN IS SO BEAUTIFUL!
Can you share a behind-the-scenes moment that made you emotional?
On my first-ever international shoot, I was only a couple of months postpartum. I was sitting with the team, and suddenly just started crying from the guilt of leaving my baby. Then I looked around. We were on a tropical island, and I was living my dream. I reminded myself that doing what makes me happy also makes me a better mum.
What’s your favourite part of the creative process?
As much as I love being on set, editing is my absolute favourite. I know most photographers will think I’m mad! I love bringing my vision to life in post-production. It’s where my style really comes through. Many brands now book me because of that editing style, which means the world, because it’s taken years to master.
A shoot you’ll never forget?
So many! But international location shoots will always be pinch-me moments. I used to re-read the emails just to make sure they were real. Shooting a swimwear campaign in the Seychelles, being flown by L’Oréal to Cannes Film Festival, and working with House of CB in the South of France are just a few of the moments I’ll never forget.
How has your background in fashion and editorial shaped your work?
It gave me the courage to follow my dream. I remember being sent to a Mario Testino exhibition for an interview, and just standing in front of those iconic images lit a fire in me. I knew I had to take the leap.
How do you protect your energy as a creative?
Comparison has been my biggest insecurity. You see so many amazing photographers online, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But I have to remind myself: I get booked by brands all over the world. They trust me. That’s something I hold onto.
Your advice for finding your glow inside and out?
Do what’s right for you. I’m learning not to be such a people pleaser. It’s stressful trying to keep everyone happy. Focus on what makes you feel good, spend time with people who lift you up, and life will feel lighter, and that light will shine in everything you do.
